The Aam Aadmi Party’s Mahila Morcha gheraoed the BJP headquarters on Sunday demanding justice for India’s Daughter Ankita Bhandari, who was brutally murdered by a BJP leader’s son in Uttarakhand.
A large crowd of AAP Mahila Morcha members took part in the protest. As they gheraoed the BJP headquarters they were met with heavy police bandobast that barred them from charging ahead.
AAP Mahila morcha State incharge, Sarita Singh said that BJP ruled Uttarakhand Government’s response to Ankita Bhandari’s murder reeks of inaction and
insensitivity.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah must own up to their responsibility of providing security to country’s daughters. The entire nation is angry. BJP leaders and their sons are indulged in crime against women in the country,” she said
“The BJP is not willing to take this responsibility and initiate action against their own leaders who have become the biggest threat to the safety of women which has fumed the entire country and women with anger.
AAP stands in solidarity with all the women and we will not allow the BJP to perpetrate atrocities on them,” said Singh.
The AAP spokesperson Reena Gupta said that BJP should be renamed to Bharatiya Balatkari Party.
“In the past three days, three BJP leaders have committed crimes against women. Two of the unfortunate incidents have taken place in Bhopal & Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and Ankita was murdered in Uttarakhand.
BJP leaders have given freedom to their sons to do whatever they want to even if it means taking law in their own hands and they are misusing their power to cover up their crimes,” said
