The Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP ) in Delhi organised 267 Mohalla Sabhas aiming to expose alleged corruption in the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) ruled Municipal Corporations.
While 27000 people participated in Sabhas ( gatherings ) in 60 Vidhan Sabha assemblies, the AAP leader Durgesh Pathak, said that the people at the Mohalla Sabhas were curious to know how the BJP is doing corruption in the MCD and how the public tax money is being looted.
Pathak said Delhiites have understood that if the BJP's corruption factory in the MCD has to be shut, the power of the MCD has to be handed over to an honest party, people are announcing the formation of AAP government in MCD like the Delhi.
Terming MCDs as the BJP’s corruption hub and demanding closing of it, Pathak said the power has to be handed over to an honest party like AAP.
The AAP which has started a series of Mohalla Sabhas in Delhi, said that it was the third day of the campaign to expose the corruption of the MCD.
The AAP has started a series of discussions on the corruption of the BJP-ruled MCD through Mohalla Sabhas in different areas of Delhi from 7th January 2021.
In these Mohalla Sabhas, AAP MLAs, MCD councilors, and volunteers along with local people participated.
The local people are invited to visit the Mohalla Sabha and discuss the corruption in the BJP-ruled municipal corporation with the public.
Reacting to the growing participation of local people in Mohalla sabhas, Pathak said, it shows that the people of Delhi are willing to talk about the corruption being done by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Municipal corporation.
The people want to know how the BJP is doing corruption in the municipal corporation, how the municipal corporation is looting, looting the public tax money.
He said, "The people are not only interested in knowing how the BJP is doing corruption, but the victims of the BJP's corruption are also increasing. People are coming to the Sabhas and revealing the past incidents with them in the public. Every day, hundreds of such incidents of corruption are being disclosed by the people in different Mohalla Sabhas. The people said that the incidents of bribery in the MCD for residential construction in Delhi are uncountable. You may live in any locality or in any corner of Delhi, but when you build your house, you cannot build your house without giving bribes to the MCD, without giving bribes to the people of the Bharatiya Janata Party."
He also said, "The way the people are increasing in the AAP Mohalla Sabhas day by day, the number of people coming is increasing, it can be well-articulated as to how angry the people of Delhi are towards the BJP.
“The people have understood very well that if the MCD has to run smoothly and this corruption hub has to be shut, the responsibility of the MCD has to be handed over to an honest party. People are openly supporting AAP and this time, and they are assuring that the power of the MCD will be with AAP like the Delhi government,” he added.
