After a spectacular debut in Delhi politics by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, hundreds of his supporters and locals thronged his residence at Kaushambi in Ghaziabad to greet him.
People began coming to his residence since Sunday evening though Kejriwal did not meet them. On Monday, his relatives, close friends and local residents began coming to his house from morning itself. The political activities too went on simultaneously as all senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party came there to discuss the future course of action.
Early morning, focus of media and political analysts shifted to Girnar IRS Residency, where Kejriwal lives with his family, as core group members of AAP held a meeting at the residence. A huge crowd turned up in the vicinity of the society who had come to greet AAP chief on his successful entry on the Delhi’s political forefront.
Kejriwal’s sister, brother-in-law, uncle, nephews, friends and many others congratulated the leader for his thumping victory over the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. “We are happy with the way people have supported AAP candidates in Delhi elections. The struggle done by Kejriwal is clearly visible and the massive support of people is an example of it,” said Suman Kejriwal, sister of Arvind Kejriwal, who had come from Bhiwani district.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal met party workers in the evening and thanked them for their support. While talking to the media, Kejriwal would not comment on political development and asked the media to await announcement from the party. He later moved towards Constitution Club to participate in a meeting of winning AAP MlAs.
Similarly, Manish Sisodia, another senior member of AAP who won the Assembly election from Patparganj, received warm welcome at his residential complex in Vartalok Housing Society of Ghaziabad. Relatives and family members had gathered at the residence to congratulate him. Seema Sisodia, his wife and son Meer too celebrated the historic victory.
“It was not a surprise for me when he was declared the winner; I would have been shocked if he did not win. He is hardworking and had fought the elections with honesty,” said Seema. She was at a loss for words when asked to describe her emotions since this was the first time any one in the family had entered politics.
