An eight-year-old girl child was allegedly raped by two persons, including a juvenile in her locality in North-West Delhi’s Rani Bagh area. The 14-year-old accused was later apprehended, while the 20-year-old friend was arrested on Thursday. The juvenile has been sent to a correctional home. There has been a rise in the cases of sexual offences committed by juveniles in the national Capital.
According to the victim’s statement, the juvenile had been sexually assaulting her for the past one week and had called Dharmendar (20) on Wednesday afternoon to outrage her modesty, when the minor girl was alone at her residence. Her parents work as labourers in a factory in the area. On Wednesday afternoon, the parents of the victim had left for work.
The juvenile boy, who is her neighbour and known to her, entered her house. later he allegedly raped her. The victim narrated the ordeal to her parents when they returned home in the evening. The parents later informed police. A medical examination of the girl confirmed rape after which the juvenile was apprehended.
Meanwhile in another case involving a juvenile who had raped an eight-year-old girl in Outer Delhi’s Alipur area, was apprehended by police. The incident had taken place on November 19 when the minor girl was lured by the 17-year-old boy and then raped. Police have now apprehended the accused.
