Police arrested four people on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl in a moving car in Greater Noida on Monday, said police, adding that the victim is known to the accused and had come to Greater Noida for a ride in Tata Indica.
“The victim said the four youth started touching her inappropriately. When she resisted the bid, two of them allegedly raped her in the moving car,” said a police official. The accused then dumped the girl on the way and fled from the spot, said police. The girl registered a complaint in Kasna police station.
Abhishek Yadav, SP (rural) Gautam Budh Nagar, said a case of rape has been registered against the accused. “We arrested all the accused and presented them in the court. They were later sent to judicial custody,” he said.
The accused people have been identified as Kalu, Yunus, Banti and Irfan worked as drivers in Delhi and are residents of Moti Bagh, said police.
In another case police arrested a 19-year-old youth for allegedly raping his minor neighbour. The incident had occurred on Tuesday evening when the accused, identified as Pawan, was caught red handed with the minor in the kitchen of her residence, police said.
“Family of the victim informed police about the incident. A police team was sent to the spot and the accused was arrested. A case of rape and protection of children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him. He was produced in the court and was sent to jail,” said Praveen Yadav, in-charge, Surajpur police station.
