A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her friend in a car at an isolated spot in the Mahipalpur area on October 15. Police said that based on woman’s complaint they have registered a case and arrested the accused.
According to police, the woman accused her friend of raping her in his car after he spiked her drink. In her complaint, the woman alleged that her friend identified as Robin, alias Ankur Gupta, called her to meet.
After having the spiked drink, he offered to take her to Mahipalpur for showing the venue of his birthday party celebrations.
Police said that Robin stopped his car near an ATM in Mahipalpur and tried to force himself on her after which she lost consciousness and he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Police have registered a case under IPC Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence) and 376 (rape) at the Tilak Nagar police station and the accused was arrested from Janakpuri on Sunday.
