The dismissed employee of T-Series music company, Kishan Kumar, arrested by Delhi Police on charges of impersonation and criminal intimidation, had also indulged in extortion and sexual abuse of budding female singers.

Investigations by the Inter State Cell (ISC) of Crime Branch have opened a Pandora’s box. The accused was mired in criminal activities; around 30 female victims were victimised by the accused.

Police sources said that the accused Kishan Kumar had prominently displayed his photographs with senior political leaders, actors and former President Pratibha Patil. Accused Kumar was working as liaison consultant and he used to hoodwink budding singers by wheedling out money from them by posing as the CMD of the company, Kishan Kumar.

“He used to lure aspiring female singers on the pretext of launching them in a musical album. He had sexually abused around 30 women in the last one year and also extorted money from them,” sources added. Kumar had conjured up visiting cards to support his claim as the CMD of T-Series. Whenever he met an aspiring singer or musician, he always proffered his card.

“During the probe, it emerged that he is an expert in mimicry,” police sources said, adding that during his interview at Super Cassette Industries limited (SCIl), the management received a call from several Ministers to appoint him.

Investigators claimed that Kumar was also arrested in 2005 in a cheating case and now they are digging into his criminal past. “In the last one year, apart from threatening SCIl director Ved Parkash Chanan, he along with his associate, Vikas Dutt, a radio jockey of AIR also called many businessmen and wrested money in the name of donation after posing as PA to senior politicians,” police sources said, adding that Kumar along with Dutt were threatening the CMD of T-Series over phone, identifying himself on various occasions as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, RJD president lalu Prasad and former Union Minister Raghupati Sevugan, to reinstate him and were making hoax calls from three different numbers exacting money to the tune of `20 lakh.

They have been booked under Sections 419 (punishment for cheating by impersonation), 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 387 (extortion), 511 (attempt to commit an offence), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.
