Kanawani chowki in-charge sent to police lines
Noida: Earning bad press for failing to avert clashes between Gujjars and Jatavs in Kanawani village, Noida Police has started connecting the dots and taking appropriate action against the reprehensible men in uniform. Initial investigation reveals Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has sent Kanawani chowki in-charge, Dharmendra Dahiya, to police lines for suppressing intelligence. The action was initiated following a visit from the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Chairman Pl Punia. Punia had come down heavily on the police for their failure and sought a blow by blow dossier. Kanawani has seen high-profile visitors in the past few days, from politicians to bureaucrats. locals, however, said they were tired of the “attention” and said politicians were only interested in keeping the matter alive for political gains. Senior officials of Noida Police however, said they are hell-bent in investigating the role of the police. Preliminary investigation indicates Kanawani police post in-charge of failing to carry out his duty. “We have sent him to police lines and are investigating the role of other police officials as well. Dahiya failed to inform his seniors about the possibility of flare-up between the two communities despite having prior intel. He lied to his seniors about having the situation (in Kanawani) under control,” said a senior Noida Police official.
Bizman charred to death after car catches fire
New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a 30-year-old businessman was charred to death when the car he was driving suddenly caught fire in the Mangolpuri area of Outer Delhi on Wednesday night. The businessman identified as Anil Moga was passing through Outer Ring road when the mishap took place. The businessman owned a shop of wholesale gift items at Sadar Bazaar in Central Delhi and lived with his family in North-West Delhi’s Pitampura area. According to a police official of the Outer district, Moga was left his house at Pitampura at around 10 pm by his white Toyota Etios. When he reached near Peera Garhi Chowk on the Outer Ring road his car suddenly caught fire. His car was soon engulfed in the fire and it appears that the central locking system got jammed and neither he was able to open the car from inside nor people trying to help him could open the gate from outside. It was a sad spectacle as he was burnt to death within minutes, the official added. Eyewitnesses told the police that the doors of the car either jammed or Moga panicked as the blaze spread very fast. By the time fire tenders arrived at the spot and doused the fire, he was totally charred.
