Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a gang of cheats and arrested two persons who used to con people on the pretext of helping them secure a Government job. On July 28, the South Avenue police station received a complaint from one Sunil Kumar Golti where he stated that he along with his two cousins was duped of lakhs of rupees by a gang of cheats. BK Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) said, "Two men — Rakesh Kashyap (37) and Salauddin (32) — have been arrested." The senior officer said, "The victims got in touch with the accused through mutual friends. The accused introduced themselves to the victims using false names. In lieu of Rs 4 lakh per person, the accused called the complainant and his two cousins to Udyog Bhawan on the pretext of filling up application forms, holding interviews and written examinations. They (the accused) even asked the victims to pay up Rs 50,000 for each step including medical examination at a Government hospital. After this the accused would show the victims their result at the fake SSC sites. However, when the complainant could not find any exam result for such posts at the real web sites of SSC they approached the local police.” Police said that the CISF officials at the Udyog Bhawan too were informed about the matter on August 1. On August 4, the local police along with the CISF officials managed to apprehend the suspects near Udyog Bhawan’s gate no 12 where Rakesh Kashyap and Salauddin were carrying out interview of another person, Sunil Kumar, who told the local police that Salauddin had brought him to Udyog Bhawan for Government job interview and Rakesh Kashyap was taking his interview.
