People who were allotted flats in the DDA's housing schemes 2014 have complained about the poor handling of their documents and files by DDA administration. Meanwhile, over 1,500 people have already surrendered their allotted flats due to poor quality of construction and delays in delivery.
"I have submitted all required documents and have also been submitting the installments of Rs12,000 per month. Every time I visit here, DDA officials never respond me. Still I do not have any information about when the DDA will deliver the flat keys to the owners," said Kajal, teacher at a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) school near laxmi Nagar.
The DDA offered 25,034 flats under the Housing Scheme 2014. Most of these flats are single-bedroom units known as lIG flats. These flats were to be built using green technology. But the buyers have various complaints related to the poor quality of construction and the location of the flats.
"Rohini and Dwarka DDA flats are situated far away from the city. The transport connectivity to those places is not sufficient," said a buyer at DDA office.
As DDA opened this housing scheme for the outer States people, buyers from nearby States have also been visiting the office. "I am investing my life time saving to buy the DDA flat in Narela and now I am with empty hands. I do not know when I will get flat keys," said Sujata, an allottee from Uttrakhand.
Though the DDA officials claimed they are solving the issues related to these flats but buyers are not happy with handing and processing of their docoments.
These DDA flats were to be allotted by March 2015 and the possession was to be given within one year from allotment. Out of the total 25,034 flats, 22,627 flats are two-room sets having one bedroom and a drawing room with a price tag of between Rs14 to Rs22 lakhs.
