Staff Reporter

Delhi’s Food and Supply Minister Imran Hussain on Wednesday said that Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers should display eligibility information related to the One Nation, One Ration Card (ONORC) on their notice boards. Hussain held a meeting with representatives of the Delhi Sarkari Ration Dealers Sangh (DSRDS) and discussed issues pertaining to distribution of free ration.

The DSRDS welcomed the decision of the Delhi Government to distribute ration through e-PoS devices from all fair price shops in Delhi and assured Hussain that the work of distribution of ration to the beneficiaries was running smoothly.

The Delhi Government has increased margin money from `70 per quintal to `200 per quintal of foodgrains which is one of the highest amounts being paid in any State in India.

“The Delhi Government is conscious of the concerns of FPS dealers and margin money for both the schemes i.e. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) and the NFS are being dispersed in a timely manner by the DSCSC,” Hussain said.

The AAP Minister urged the representatives of the DSRDS to distribute the full entitlement under the National Food Security Act and the PMGKAY to the beneficiaries.

During the meeting, the technical and network issues related to the e-PoS device were also discussed.
