Expressing anguish over incomplete preparations of Char Dham Yatra, which began on May 13, Char Dham Yatra Administration sought an explanation from departments concerned for cause of delay in making arrangements. The letter has been shot off to the departments following instructions by Gharwal commissioner Subardhan.
The Commissioner has reacted strongly over poor condition of the road and lack of safety measures in hilly areas. Taking serious note of lack of arrangements, which were supposed to be in place before May 13, the administration shot off a letter to the departments asking them to give details about various steps taken by them to make the arrangements. The letter has been sent to Public Works Department, Jal Sansthan, Medical, and District Magistrates of the districts through which the Yatra route passes. The officials of these departments have been asked to give the account of preparations and efforts within three-day.
Officer on special duty for the Char Dham Yatra Regional Tourism Officer Yogendra Kumar Gangwar confirmed that a letter was sent to different departments. “We are closely monitoring status of arrangements. Efforts are on. Departments responsible for putting in arrangements have been asked to complete the arrangements soon so that there be no inconvenience to the pilgrims,” he said.
