Will dissolve Devsthanam board when in power: Cong

PNS

Unperturbed by the victory of Trivendra Singh Rawat government after the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on the Char Dham Devsthanam board, the Uttarakhand Congress has reiterated its earlier stand on the issue.

The party has resolved that it would abolish the Devsthanam board if it comes to power in the state in the year 2022. In a statement the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Pritam Singh said that the Congress party had not gone to the court on the issue and it has nothing to do with the judicial process.

He said that the stand of the Congress party is clear on the issue from the day one that it would abolish the board when it comes to the power in the state in year 2022 and it would restore the old system.

Singh said that the BJP government has enacted the law without taking the priests and the stakeholders in confidence so the party is not in favour of the board.

The Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana said that Congress party honours court but in this matter opinion of Congress party has nothing to do with the judicial decision.
