Police busted a vehicle-lifting gang in the district as they arrested four people. Several looted items and vehicles were seized. They were arrested when they were planning to commit another crime, police said.
Acting on a tip- off, Ranipur Police nabbed the four from Tehri Visthapit Colony area on Thursday. Among the seized items were three gold chains, two pair of gold earrings, two gold necklaces, one ZYNC tablet and one Nokia cellphone. This apart, four knives were also seized from the accused. They were identified as Amit of Vishnulok colony, Sanju, Ankul and Ankit- all residents of Kacch locality under Jwalapur police station.
Dwelling on the modus operandi on the gang, police said Sanju collected information of the locked houses while selling balloons door-to-door. SO Ranipur said several theft cases have been recently registered in Jwalapur and Haridwar City police stations of the district.
