Uttarakhand Samvaidhanik Adhikar Sangrakshan Manch (USASM) conducted a protest march towards Vidhan Sabha in support of its 20-point demands. They were stopped at Rispana barricading by the police after a bit of tussle.
State convener of USASM, Daulat Kunwar said that they have been trying to express their grievance for the past eight days by undertaking relay hunger strike, but no government representative had yet tried to coordinate with them, because of which they had to take the decision to march towards Vidhan Sabha.
About his demands he said; firstly state government should take back their petition against giving reservation to the people of Schedule Tribe (ST) and Schedule Caste (SC) for promotional seats. In addition to that people of Other Backward Castes (OBC) should be provided 27 percent reservation based on their population percentage. The government order issued by state government based on roster system should be cancelled right away.
They also demanded CBI investigation in the infamous scholarship scam, appointment of SC and ST people on the reserved seats in Char Dham Mandir Samiti, establishment of one university for the minority section and arresting of Dr Piyush from Mahant Indiresh Hospital for the death of an infant baby girl allegedly because of his carelessness.
