UPA should sanction new projects for State, says BJP

PNS

BJP State chief Tirath Singh Rawat has cornered the UPA-II for not introducing new schemes for Uttarakhand.

After lamenting that the Union Government has not taken effective steps for fulfilling the year-long pending demands of the State, Rawat said that UPA-II should sanction new projects for strengthening rail network in the mountainous parts of the State. He lamented that Union Government has not endorsed Rishikesh-Karanprayag, Dehradun-Vikasnagar-Mussoorie and Tanakpur-Khatima-Bagaeshwar rail line and the Government has not made provision for separate budget for the rail network in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand. He claimed that Uttarakhand would have been on the path of overall development if the Union Government had sanctioned funds for strengthening rail network in the State.
