In an incident, rare in Uttarakhand, known for strong family values, a minor was allegedly molested by her uncle (Mausa) when she was alone in the house on Sunday evening.
Such a report was lodged at Doiwala police station by the victim's parents and taking cognisance of the report, a case under section 354 of IPC and sections of Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the accused Shahid, resident of Tilliwala, Doiwala (Dehradun). Teams have been formed to arrest the accused, said Doiwala police station in-charge inspector Sandeep Negi.
As per complaint, the accused had beaten her after she screamed. Before others came the accused molested her and fled, the complaint said.
