In a significant decision, the Uttarakhand High Court (HC) on Monday has put strictures on the President of Central Council of Indian Medicine, Dr Ved Prakash Tyagi and asked him not to take any policy decisions.
Vinod Kumar Chauhan and others have filed a petition in HC challenging the registration of Tyagi in Uttarakhand Medical Council recently. The petitioners have claimed that Tyagi is also registered in Rajasthan medical council following which his registration was cancelled by Uttarkhand medical council.
Dr Tyagi had challenged the decision in Uttarakhand HC which ruled in his favor. Vinod Chauhan and others then filed a special appeal on the issue. On Monday a bench comprising of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and U C Dhyani heard the appeal and issued orders preventing Tyagi from taking any policy decision. The next hearing on the issue is slated on July 12.
