The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Airy faction) has demanded that Gairsain be declared as the State’s permanent capital soon and that the construction of the Vidhan Sabha building here be completed soon.
Addressing media persons in Dehradun on Sunday, the party head Kashi Singh Airy said that the system being used in Dehradun should be continued till the capital is established at Gairsain and that construction of a second Assembly building and secretariat in Dehradun was unnecessary and a waste of money.
He alleged that the reservation announced for various seats in the three-tier Panchayat election had been done with political gains in view in stead of being facilitated according to the rules.
Demanding that the reservations be facilitated as per the rules, Airy said that officers concerned at the district level should be given this responsibility.
He also announced the formation of various committees in the party in view of the Panchayat elections.
