Two alleged cases of rape involving two minors by their neighbours were reported under two different police stations — Sahaspur and Clement Town — in the past one week.
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 22- year- old Shubham, a driver of commercial vehicle and her neighbour. The incident was reported at Clement Town police on Friday evening. The accused Shubham was sent to Suddhowala jail on Saturday after being presented in the court, said Clement Town Police Station sub-inspector Jeevan Rawat.
He said that victim’s parents had registered a complaint on Friday evening and a case under sections 376 of IPC and a case under section 376 of IPC and sections ¾ of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was lodged against the accused. Victim’s statement under section 164 of CrPC will soon be recorded before the magistrate, he added.
In another incident, Sahaspur police have arrested a 20-year- old factory worker Tinku, native of Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) from Sela-Qui on October 8, who had allegedly raped a 13-year-old minor in Sahaspur area on October 3.
Vikasnagar CO City SK Singh said that a report regarding the alleged rape of the minor was registered on October 6. Though it allegedly happened on October 3 the minor’s parents registered the complaint on October 6 evening.
