Two bodies were found at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan near Haridwar Bypass on ISBT Road on Friday, making the people living nearby panicky. Senior police officers, including Garhwal Range DIG, SSP Nivedita Kukreti and Nehru Colony police station in-charge Rajesh Sah, rushed to the spot.
The bodies have been identified as those of Kamal Ram, resident of Rudraprayag, and Sonu Kumar, resident of Dehradun. Both are reported to be working with the Nirankari Mission. Rajesh Shah, Nehru Colony police station officer, said that as per the preliminary investigation, the duo died in a road accident. However, they were probing the case from all angles, he said, adding that family members of both the deceased have been informed and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. People were really fearful.
