A two-day International workshop on Endoscopic Ear Surgery was organised by the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Shri Guru Ram Rai Medical College, which started here on Monday.
The Principal of the College Dr AK Mehta said as new technologies are developing, ear surgeries can also be conducted using by using the endoscope which were earlier being done using microscopic technique. “This aim of this workshop is to teach this new endoscopic technique. The diseases of the ear are difficult to deal with and the endoscope provides a full 360 degrees view and thus the disease is completely cleared from the ear. Another advantage is that a smaller incision is required for the endoscopic ear surgery,” he said.
Internationally renowned ENT Surgeon Dr Daniele Marchioni from University of Verona, (Italy), is heading the workshop.
