Acting on tip off about illegal mining activities in the riverbeds areas of Haridwar, the district police has launched drive and seized a truck loaded with quarried riverbed materials in Bhagwanpur police station area on Tuesday. Haridwar police said
that taking cognisance of increasing illegal mining activities in the district, all the police post and police station officers have been directed to be vigilant on illegal mining activities and take action against illegal mining operators under mining Act in their respective jurisdiction.
Moreover, Anti Mining Striking Squad comprised of Inspector, sub-inspector and quick response team (QRT) have been formed to put check on illegal mining activitiesin the riverbeds areas of the district. This squad is headed by CO Rajesh Bhatt.
The CO Bhatt has been directed to launch drive against illegal mining activities apart from taking action against illegal mining operators from time to time. Acting on tip off, the Haridwar police has launched drive and seized a truck loaded with illegal minerals on Tuesday.
