An interesting and informative event was held on Sunday in the Doon valley for teachers and institutional heads by Trinity College, london as part of the many festivals it is holding in India. Just before coming to Doon, they held a fest in Jaipur and then in Chandigarh.
A lot of music, fun and information was all wrapped into the event that began in the morning and ended in the evening. It was attended by many teachers of Music and English as well as communication and performing arts. Performances by students and teachers of the Doon valley were part of the programme. Music teachers from schools like Doon School, Welham Boys’ School, Unison World School and Hope Town School participated in the fest besides students from Hope Town School. Teachers from private institutions were also present. Presenters and performers of the Trinity Academic Support Team and specialists in classical and contemporary music, drama, communication skills, performing arts and English language made the fest an enriching experience for all participants.
Talking to The Pioneer, Ajay Mehta, a well-known academician of Doon valley (who runs life Express and Unschool), said that Trinity College examiners had been visiting Dehradun for many years to assess the performance of students who were following TCl courses. “They just finished assessing Doon School students and also Hope Town students. They will be coming to life Express on May 15,” he said.
Mehta said that when a school stages a play, there is a lot of hard work done by the entire team and if a TCl examiner is called to assess the performance, each member of the team can get certified by TCl. “Through this fest, teachers and heads of institutions are getting exposure regarding how they can benefit through these TCl courses.”
