In view of the festive season, tight security arrangements have been made in the district to maintain law and order and peace. The district administration Nainital claims to have made elaborate security arrangements in coordination with the Nainital district police to deal with any eventuality and maintain law and order during the festive occasion in the district.
In view of the rush in the market places nowadays , the district administration, Nainital, has also asked the Nainital district police to maintain vigil in all sensitive zones and busy market places across the district and inter- district border points so that untoward incident, if any occurs, can be handled effectively during the festive occasion.
The district administration, Nainital, has also stressed the need to put in place necessary fire safety measures to deal with any eventuality.
At the same time, it has also asked the officials concerned to allow sale of firecrackers only at the fixed places in their respective areas so that fire like incident could be avoided. Emphasising the need to follow the necessary fire safety norms, the district administration, Nainital, has directed the officials concerned to take necessary action against those shopkeepers who are found selling firecrackers in other than the identified areas.
Notably, in view of the fire safety concerns, the firecrackers market this year has been shifted to the MB Inter College ground on the Nainital Road in Haldwani from the Ramlila Ground which is located close to the main market of the Haldwni city. However, vehicular traffic continued to crawl even on Wednesday as all the major roads cutting through the heart of Haldwani city remained crowded by the market-goers throughout the day.
