Three helicopter services to Kedarnath disrupted on Friday

PNS

Helicopter services provided by three companies were halted on Friday in Rudraprayag district, because of which visitors going from Guptkashi to Kedarnath had to face inconvenience.

Nodal officer of the Rudraprayag district administration Surendra Singh Panwar said that the visitors were transported on other choppers.

Giving further information Panwar said, “UTair Aviation has stopped their services and will resume after the monsoon season.

There were some technical difficulties with the choppers of Pawan Hans Private Limited and Kestrel Aviation.” When asked about the problems visitors going to Kedarnath had to face because of these issues he said, “We shifted them to other helicopters.”

It is also important to mention here that after consistent discrepancies in the helicopter services provided to Kedarnath and several allegations of the black marketing of chopper tickets, six separate cases have been filed against helicopter companies and alleged agents in Rudraprayag district so far.

According to police few people are misusing the offline tickets that only Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam has the authority to issue. The investigation in these cases is ongoing.
