Congress General Secretary and State Congress in-charge Choudhary Birender Singh has categorically said that persons having blood relations with Cabinet ministers or MlAs will not be given ticket by the party.

This statement has disappointed state cabinet minister Indira Hridayesh’s son Sumit Hridayesh, who was seeking ticket for Mayor of Haldwani Municipal Corporation and MlA Pradeep Batra’s wife, who was seeking ticket for the mayor of Roorkee Municipal Corporation.

Now question is being raised that why party leader made such announcement when bulk of the tickets have already been declaredIJ

He also made it clear that the candidate upto age of 35 years will be given ticket on the recommendation of youth congress officials but selection norms will be followed.

As far as biasness is concerned then we have appointed seven members committee to decide about the candidate for each municipality or Municipal Corporation.

With this statement Choudhary has rejected the proposal of all the leaders including cabinet minister Indira Hridayesh, who was seeking Haldwani seat for her son Sumit Hridayesh; Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, who was seeking ticket for his nephew; union Minister Harish Rawat, who was seeking ticket for his son Anand Rawat, Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Singh Mahra, who was seeking ticket for his relative; PCC president Yashpal Arya, who was seeking ticket for his son
