The Booknerds Hangout Past Tense by Lee Child

PNS

The Booknerds in collaboration with Penguin Random House hosted a Hangout dedicated to book and movie lovers on Monday. The book which was discussed was Lee Child's recently released Past Tense and the Jack Reacher series and also the movie by the same name, starring Tom Cruise. Badrish Chhabra, an actor, director, writer and producer, revealed  behind the scenes efforts that go into transforming a book into a movie.

As the discussion started, a short summary was provided for everyone to understand the character of Jack Reacher and Past Tense. A debate on which one was better-the book or the movie-followed. Badrish Chhabra then talked about how a book and script for a movie are starkly different from each other and so are the artforms.

He narrated the journey from a book adaption to the final product, the movie, what all it takes and what are the hurdles to overcome. Then began the question hour during which queries came up from censorship to production of the movie. Chhabra answered them in details.

The next session would be on held on November 18 during which the nerds would discuss the soon to be released Becoming by Michelle Obama.
