THDC India limited (THDCIl) has been conferred with the Rajbhasha Kirti Award (Third). THDCIl director (personnel) SK Biswas received this award from the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony held on the occasion of Hindi Diwas at the Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday.
The ceremony was chaired by Union Home minister Rajnath Singh while Ministers of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Haribhai Parthibhnai Choudhary were also present on the occasion.
THDCIl is a profit making organisation and one of the premier hydro power generators in the country bestowed with 'Mini Ratna-Category-I & Schedule 'A' Status. The corporation is also diversifying into other areas like thermal, wind and solar energy in addition to also being engaged in hydro power development.
