Pulling up the Tehsildar for lack of systematic work in the lalkuan tehsil, Nainital District Magistrate Deepak Rawat has directed the official to improve the system within one week. The DM issued this instruction after inspecting the lalkuan Tehsil on Wednesday. He also directed officials to make adverse entries in the service books of two Patwaris.
On reaching the Tehsil on Wednesday morning, the DM expressed dissatisfaction at the lack of cleanliness in the Tehsil campus and directed that an open water tank be covered immediately. In view of power cuts in the Tehsil, Rawat called the Electricity sub divisional officer and directed him to connect the Tehsil’s power supply to the urban area. The estimate for this work should be submitted and the power connection should be started within a month.
He also directed officials to facilitate immediate repair of the generator, Photostat machine and telephone system at the Tehsil. On finding that two Patwaris had not provided Khasra Khatauni documents for two years in the Tehsil, he pulled them up and directed them to improve their work within a week. The district magistrate also inspected the Kotwali in lalkuan and sought information about various aspects included listed criminals.
Talking to the local media later, Rawat said that the work of the public was more important than Government work so Government employees should accord priority to undertaking public works along with Governmental works. He said after the death of a girl in Shastrinagar area from jaundice, all necessary measures were being taken and blood samples were being collected and tested. Four other jaundice patients were being administered medical treatment.
The DM informed the proposal for converting the lalkuan health centre into an additional Primary Health Centre had been approved and construction of the same would be started as soon as the required budget is approved.
