PNS

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that teachers are like that sculptor who sculpts a statue out of a stone. He said that teachers play a major role in moulding the future of the students.

The CM was addressing a foundation day programme organised at Eklavya Adarsh Vidhyalaya, a residential school at Kalsi on Saturday. He said that Mahatma Gandhi appropriately said that an able teacher can overcome the problem of absence of building and library in a school.  Appreciating the teachers of the school, the CM said that a corpus fund of Rs 15 Lakh would be set up for welfare of the students of the school. He also announced that the food allowance in the school would be increased from Rs 100 to Rs  150 per student. Rawat made an announcement of donating Rs 5 lakh from his personal account for the welfare of the students of the school. He declared that a sum of Rs 25 lakh would be spent on repair of the building of Government Inter College Kalsi.

The CM said that this year, seven students of the school have got admission in institutes like IIT, NIT and IIIT. Apart from them, two students have got admission in medical college while four were able to make it to the Delhi University. These achievements speak volumes of the efforts put in by the teachers and Principal of the school, he said.

The social welfare Minister, Yashpal Arya, said that in a short span of nine years, the school has made a big name for itself.

Local MLA, Munna Singh Chauhan, said that the school has only 46 students when it was established but now it has 400 students. He said that the school has a potential to become a role model for other schools.
