Reacting to the fitness challenged accepted and forwarded by Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat questioned whether the Prime Minister and Chief Minister are taking up the real challenges facing the nation. In a brief video clip uploaded on the social media, the former chief minister said that it was good that prime minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had posed a sort of fitness challenge to the people of India. “However, have you accepted the challenge that there are about 22 crore Indians living below the poverty line whose condition has remained unchanged in these four yearsIJ Have you thought of meeting the challenge of providing nutritious food to malnourished IndiansIJ Trivendra Singhji you are bothered about fitness but the fitness of your forests is done for as they are on fire. You are not bothered about paying the allowances of the fire guards we had appointed.
We had deployed Mi-26 helicopter to tackle the forest fires but now with the ‘double-engine’ Government the forests are being allowed to burn.”
