Swami Achyutanand assails silence of the saints

PNS

While condemning what happened at landhaura, Swami Achyutanand Teerth of Bhuma Niketan said that the community of the saints, in general, has done a great disservice to the religion and the country by keeping a stony silence over the violence that has been unleashed on June  1.

“Flattering the high and mighty for  small gains cannot be role  the people expect the  sant community to play. This is an  affront against the basic tenets of Hindu religion too which does not encourage  the saints to put self-aggrandizement  over dharma,” he said while addressing a  press conference in Haridwar on Friday. He also trained his gun on the Congress, saying that the ruling  party of the State is busy pandering to minority appeasement to consolidate  its vote bank behind it. “This is what is  damaging the foundation of the country from within. This  is dangerous,” he said.

Achyutanand further  said, “The youths are giving lessons on  the art  of terrorism in  the  Madrassas. They need to  be closed down immediately  to  stop them from turning  breeding grounds of the terrorists.”

The seer said that the way  a Shiva temple was destroyed at landhaura  is condemnable. On 19 June, they would   congregate at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to demand ‘Saman Nagrik Samhita (Uniform Civil Code), he added.
