Staff Reporter

A day after a woman, married to son of Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Rampal Singh, committed suicide in Raisen district, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said that an investigation would be carried out into the suicide.“The matter would be investigated,” said Chouhan while replying to media queries. Home Minister Bhupendra Singh said that the woman has not blamed anyone in her suicide note.

Meanwhile, Raisen-resident Preeti Raghuvanshi's kin on Sunday received the body of the deceased after post-mortem and later performed her last rites. The kin alleged that their signatures were taken on post-mortem form but their videographer was not allowed inside the room.

In the meantime, heavy police force was deployed at the spot in Raisen's Udaipura in view of prevailing tense atmosphere. Additional Superintendent of Police K Kerketta said that the matter is being investigated following which relevant case would be registered.

It is being claimed Preeti and Girjesh had married at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Bhopal a few days ago. However, Girjesh's kin had got his betrothal done somewhere else. Preeti was depressed since then and took her own life.

Since last rites have been performed, family members of  deceased have also stopped raising voice. So case seems to have reached its conclusion. Police officials claimed that only the allegations of the deceased’s family members were basis for taking any action in the incident.
