A workshop on World AIDS Day organised by Jan Jagran Abhiyan Samiti here on Tuesday was attended by students of Sharada Public School. The objective of the workshop was to make the people aware of the growing risk from AIDS, particularly among the younger generation.
Prevention and symptoms of AIDS, difference between HIV and AIDS, means to prevent the disease and other related topics were discussed during the workshop with the students being made aware of its details.
Dr Asha Rawal told the gathering about how AIDS is transmitted and measures to keep it at bay. Diagnosis and prevention measures were explained by Dr Svadesh Bansal.
He added that AIDS is not transmitted by sitting nearby and talking to the afflicted. Founder of the organisation Swapnil Sinha said that they would hold more such programmes in the coming days.
