In the case registered against an Uttar Pradesh based ‘god-man’ and his aide in Rajpur police station on Friday, two women have accused them of raping them. The complaint has been filed against four people including the ‘god-man’, his aide and two other women. According to the officials, Dehradun police have now started to go through the past criminal records of the said ‘god-man’ Chandramohan, one of which includes the case registered against him in Muzaffarnagar regarding the alleged murder of his wife. Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arun Mohan Joshi said that further action will be taken after the magisterial statements are recorded on Monday.
Dehradun Superintendent of Police (city) Shweta Choubey said, “As of now we are trying to get in touch with as many women who were reportedly present during the time of the alleged crime at Ashram as the purported victim has stated in her complaint. We are also checking past records, however we will mainly be focusing on the crimes that have happened here. The complaints have been registered under the section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.”
According to the sources, police suspects that the victim’s stories might have been fabricated, as one of victim is a relative of one of the accused against whom god-man Chandramohan has filed case alleging extortion in Uttar Pradesh. Another point that has police scratching their heads is how no one in 50 metres distance was able to hear any of the screams the victim was reportedly raising.
It is pertinent to mention here that two women on Friday filed a complaint in Rajpur police station stating that one of them was raped in June last year and another was raped three months ago. According to the complainant, she was sleeping under a tin shade at the Ashram situated in Sheri village, Sahastradhara in June earlier this year, when two women came to her and said that “Guruji” has asked for her in his chambers. As soon as she entered the room branch manager Kuldeep closed the door and then both of them allegedly took turns raping her. She said that she came to the Ashram with a group of women in order to attend a religious meeting. The other victim said that she was raped by the accused last year and was also threatened to keep quiet.
