The much-awaited transfer’s list of doctors was released by the State Government on Friday. The list contains the names of 58 senior doctors of State health service which was released by the principal secretary (health), Om Prakash.

A cursory look on the list of the transfers suggests that the State Government has played a balancing act between the transfers from the hospitals located in the plain areas to those in the mountainous areas and vice versa. The senior Gynecologist at Doon women hospital, Dr Meenakshi Joshi has been appointed as Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the same hospital. She incidentally was holding the charge ever since the superannuation of previous incumbent Dr Chandra Pant.

The officiating Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Pauri Dr HK Shakya has been shifted as Additional CMO of Haridwar, similarly, Joint Director Planning at health Directorate, Dr Meenaskhi Purohit Uniyal will be the new CMS of Sridev Suman hospital, Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal.

As expected, the Doon hospital suffered maximum brunt of the transfers as six doctors were shunted out from here.

The senior Orthopedist Dr Jyoti Bohra is shifted to Haridwar while Dr SK Gupta is transferred to District hospital Uttarkashi.

Similarly, Dr B C Ramola (Senior eye specialist), Dr RS Chauhan (ENT surgeon), Dr NS Bisht (Physician), and Dr AK Arya (skin specialist) are also transferred out of Doon Hospital.

The health department has sent only one replacement Dr Rajkesh Pandey (eye specialist) to Doon hospital who was posted at Mobile Van Tehri to the Doon hospital.

The transfer order has clearly mentioned that the orders would be applicable from immediate effect and appropriate disciplinary action would be initiated against the doctors who fail to join at places of new posting within stipulated time frame.
