The guest teachers appointed in the Government schools of the State last year have resolved that any attempt by the education department to remove them would be resisted.
Under the banner of Uttarakhand Guest Teachers Association assembled at Gandhi park on Tuesday and discussed their future plans in wake of recent High Court (HC) order in which it had directed the education department to appoint the candidates who were selected in the lT examination without any further delay. The President of the association, Kailash Koranga said that the guest teachers should not be removed and the department instead should remove the clause of appointment for 89 days from their contract. He said that the performance of the guest teachers is very appreciable and they should be rewarded for their hard work.
There are more than 6000 guest teachers appointed by the department last year and there services would be terminated once the department appoints lecturers selected through a proper process. A delegation of the guest teachers also met the state CM Harish Rawat at his residence on later Tuesday night.
