Reacting on Election commission’s decision to conduct repolling at Bauna polling booth in Dharchula constituency on Wednesday, leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt alleged that the State Government has misused their official machinery to terrorise the voters in Vyas, Darma and Choudas village.
In Madkot, Bauna, Josha and Rapi polling booth ruling party forced labourers, who belong to Nepal and Bihar, to caste their vote in favour Congress by putting gun at their temple. Congress workers used government machinery to influence the voters. Appreciating the effort of the Bauna Presiding Officer, who dared to challenge the intruder and complained to the EC, Bhatt said that due to his effort repolling is going to happen on Wednesday in Bauna booth.
Bhatt further alleged that on the direction of chief minister Harish Rawat ex MlA and congress workers used money and muscle power to influence the voters. By doing this they have disdained the democratic system and hope that people would not forget this. He further said that they had appealed district administration and election officer on July 19 to flush out outsider from Dharchula assembly constituency till polling but they did not pay heed on it.
“The repolling in Bauna has ascertained our allegation that fake polling happened in Dharchula bypoll. It all happened with support of district adminstration,” he said.
