State BJP accuses Cong of political vendetta

PNS

The State BJP has accused the Congress — led State Government of pursuing political vendetta against the former, while reiterating its demand for a CBI probe into the alleged sting operation in which former personal secretary to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mohammad Shahid was purportedly shown as settling some deal with liquor barons to change the State Government’s liquor policy.

The State BJP spokesperson, Suresh Joshi, here on  Monday, alleged that the State Government is tagging the party activists with fabricated cases to browbeat them into submission. “But we would  not give in to such muscle  flexing on the part of the government. Our fight would continue for the cause of the people of the hill state,” he asserted.

He said it is known to all that the Congress–led State Government has been   indulging in corruption in a brazen manner. “They are hell-bent on gagging the voice  of  those who dare raise voice against the malpractice. But we cannot be scared this way,” he averred.

The State BJP has been demanding a CBI probe into the sting controversy since the matter came to light in July.
