The agitators also threatened to intensify their agitation in the near future in support of their year long pending demands. The agitated staff nurses under the banner of Uttarakhand Staff Nurses Service Association (UNSA) gathered at Doon Hospital and expressed their concern over the callous approach of the State Government for not fulfilling the year long pending demands of association.
In order to gain the attention of the state government, the agitated staff nurses took out rally from Doon Hospital (men) to Doon Hospital (women) hospital in Dehradun on Tuesday. They agitators also shouted anti department slogans during the rally and lamented that the memorandum highlighting their demands was given many times to top department officials but steps are yet to bet taken by the State Government for fulfilling their year long pending demands of association.
It is to be noted that the agitated staff nurses have been doing one shift out of three shift duty in the government hospitals and health centres in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand. The agitators cleared that the staff nurses have been strictly following the rules of MCI (Medical Council of India) which clearly highlighted that one staff nurse should cater the medical need of every five admitted patients in the hospital. After expressing concern over the fact the State Government is not issuing the government orders against their year long pending demands, Krishna Rawat, State General Secretary, UNSA said the agitated staff nurses have decided to withdraw their agitation only after their year long pending demands would be fulfilled by the State Government.
She said that timely promotion, dress allowance, pay anomaly, risk allowance, six pay commission, appointment of the registrar etc. are the few main pending demands of the association.
