The police station officers were also directed to strengthen security to ensure that such incidents do not recur.

The circle officers were directed to intensify patrolling during night hours on the outskirts of their respective jurisdictional areas. Those found negligent on duty would be suspended, she warned.

SSP Aggarwal directed the police officers to identify the areas where gang members are likely to target  for robberies, adding that the villagers need to be made aptly vigilant  to ward off such  happenings.

The police officers were directed to convene meetings with Gram Pradhans on the matter. The police station officers should be vigilant during night hours in their jurisdictional areas and they need to maintain in the register the names of those who are questioned by the patrol team.

The police officers were directed to question suspects who are roaming in the area during night hours. In deserted areas like Railway lines and village outskirts, police need to be extra vigilant and suspicious persons should be grilled, she added.

Kachchha Baniyan gang gets active during late rainy season and winter season, particularly in areas lying on the outskirts of the plain districts. The gang members carrying with bamboo sticks or other arms usually rob the locked houses located on the outskirts. The gang members decamp with cash and jewelry after confining the family members in a room.
