Protests are staged from time to time in Dehradun by various organisations.
Taking note on that, Senior Superintendent of Police Pushpak Jyoti has decided to inform the people beforehand about such protests, the routes and timing of such rallies. This would enable them to conveniently change routes to reach their destinations avoiding the traffic pile-up. Such information would also be provided to the traffic police officers so that they could take measures to resolve traffic congestions on the said routes.
Meanwhile, traffic in the State capital was thrown out of gear following protests by various organisations on Monday. The members of Shiksha Mitra Union, Bajrang Dal and others reached Parade Ground and carried out rallies in support of their demands, resulting in huge traffic jams at various crossings. The traffic congestion was witnessed at Dilaram Chowk, Tehsil, Clock Tower, Survey Chowk, Gandhi Park and other places. Policemen were deployed at important crossings. However, this did not spare the commuters in negotiating with traffic pile-up.
