The Governor of Uttarakhand Baby Rani Maurya in her capacity as the chancellor of University, has given an extension of six months to the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University U S Rawat.
The three year tenure of Rawat was ending on May 31, 2019.
In an order, the Chancellor Maurya said that since the process of selection of a new VC is yet to get completed, an extension of six months is given to the serving VC Rawat. The order clearly says that his appointment would be for a period of six month or appointment of a new VC whichever is earlier.
While talking to The Pioneer, Rawat said that his focus would be take the university forward on all counts.
