Speed trials will be conducted using a special train from Thursday on Bareilly-lalkuan and lalkuan-Kashipur rail blocks. According to officials, if the speed trials are conducted successfully, the trains on the respective tracks will touch speed of up to 120 kilometres per hour.

According to the North Eastern Railway public information officer Rajendra Kumar, currently the maximum speed of trains on these stretches is 75-80 kmph. The maximum speed limit is proposed to be increased to 110 kmph on Bareilly-lalkuan rail block and to 100 kmph on the lalkuan-Kashipur rail block. Considering this the railways have made all the necessary arrangements.

Speed trials will be conducted on these tracks from Thursday onwards and if the tests are successful the trains will soon be running at 100 kmph on these tracks. The divisional rail manager Chandramohan Jindal has appealed the public to remain alert during the speed tests.

“On April 10 from 9 am to 5 pm, a special train will be used to conduct speed trials on Bareilly-lalkuan and lalkuan-Kashipur tracks on the North East Railway Izzatnagar division. The people are requested to take special care while crossing the unmanned level crossings on these tracks. They should maintain adequate distance from railway tracks while those living near the railway tracks should ensure that they keep their children and domesticated animals away from the railway tracks,” said Jindal.
