Special Dais for Cong VP to avoid unruly scene

SUNIl KUMAR

Keeping in view the high security threat to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, the party had made new dais for the rally at the Parade Ground. To avoid unruly scene, which happens while welcoming to their leader, the party had placed mere eight chairs at the dais.

In which Rahul Gandhi, State Congress in-charge Ambika Soni, co-incharge Sanjay Kapoor, State PCC president Yashpal Arya, Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj, an SPG officer and others were supposed to be seated. State Cabinet Minister Indira Hridayesh reached dais along with them. Realising less number of chairs there Soni preferred to stand for a while and later she occupied a seat. Now question is being asked why the organiser placed only eight chairs at the daisIJ If they placed eight chairs then why the SPG allowed more dignitaries than the seating arrangementsIJ

As Rahul reached dais, senior leaders especially ex-CM Bahuguna and Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaja occupied two seats out of four seats in the front row. Being a State PCC president Arya addressed them and later Bahuguna addressed them. As CM Rawat reached the dais, Arya took his seat in the front row and CM Rawat had to take on second row and its credit goes to Sanjay Kapoor, who vacated his seat, otherwise the CM had to wait.
