Samajwadi Party leaders and supporters paid tribute to freedom fighter Ram Manohar lohia to mark his death anniversary at their party office in Dehradun on Thursday.
Speakers on the occasion talked about lohia’s simple life, thoughts and his contribution to the nation. SP Mahanagar president Alok Rai said that lohia viewed women as equal to men and had encouraged them to fight for their rights. He was a true supporter of Gandhi’s thoughts and said on various occasions that country can’t develop unless villages are developed.
A patriot and freedom fighter, lohia did not take long to decide what course his life would take. He dedicated his life to the welfare of India. Further, the SP leaders also condemned the alleged attack by BJP members on the CPI office during a protest demonstration in Dehradun on Wednesday.
SP Mahanagar general secretary Mohammed Nasir, party state treasurer Dinesh Mohan Naithani and other party office bearers were also among those present on the occasion.
