The team members checked the licenses of the operators of the medical stores thus raided. They also raided the chambers of some private doctors to see whether they were registered with the Uttarakhand Medical Council or not.

Police acted after receiving several complaints related to drugs/substance abuse for the past few days.

It is learnt from police sources that action was taken under sections 22(1)(c) of Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940 against Nikhil Kumar and Dr Ratin Prenath as they were found not  being duly  registered with Uttarakhand Medical Council. Drugs found in the chambers of the duo were seized, said SP City Ajay Singh. He further said raids would continue on other medical stores in the city in the coming days.
