The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing Ruby Choudhary case, reached lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (lBSNAA) on Monday and questioned ITBP personnel who were deputed to guard the academy’s gate.
The team grilled the ITBP personnel on the matter of Ruby having got into the campus without valid identity card. Significantly, as the investigation has revealed, Ruby’s name was not recorded in the academy’s registry book. However, the visitors who came to meet her had their names duly recorded in the register.
Some ITBP personnel whose duty was assigned to guard the academy’s gate during the period Ruby got in and stayed in the academy got transferred to other parts of the country.Sources said that team would also grill those ITBP personnel transferred elsewhere if it is required for the sake of further investigation.
State DGP BS Sidhu said that SIT is now engaged in examining and authenticating the collected evidences in the light of the recorded statements of the academy officials. However, there is a strain of disappointment with the probe going on at snail’s pace.
“We are hoping each day that police would go for the arrest of the principal actors in the case. But police are going irritatingly slow,” said an observer. It should be mentioned here that the academy security officer Satyaveer Singh had registered a case under Sections 420/467/468/471 of the IPC against Choudhary in the Mussoorie Police Station on April 2. Ruby was arrested on April 3 on the charge of clandestinely staying in the academy premises for around seven months and posing herself as an IAS probationer.
