Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing Ruby Choudhary case has got some crucial evidences as it has started examining materials seized during the investigation. The court on Friday had given its permission to the SIT to unseal the seized materials. SIT visited lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (lBSNAA) campus on Saturday and verified recorded statements of Academy officials against the evidences collected so far in the course of its probe.
SIT has un-sealed the materials it had collected during its investigation and is now analysing them to find the truth, a senior police official said. The SIT collected project reports on several subjects prepared by Ruby for submission. Such project reports are meant to be made by the IAS probationers alone. Things are still not clear why Ruby had prepared such reports herself. “However, it seems that she was suggested by someone holding an important post in the academy hierarchy to go for it. SIT is striving hard to unveil the fact,” said the senior police official.
SIT had also collected some of the academy’s scheduled programmes meant to be provided to the IAS probationers from the materials seized from the room where Ruby stayed. “It seems that Ruby was being considered as one of the IAS trainees,” the police official added. SIT is now all set to question academy officials to verify the authenticity of the recovered documents. SIT has also questioned the academy librarian regarding 40 academy’s library books found in Ruby’s possession again on Saturday. It is learnt that after the relevant documents are reviewed and authenticated, SIT may take the next logical step of arresting some academy officials. “It may happen very soon, give the pace things are uncoiling now,” the senior police official said
SIT is convinced now that Choudhary had presented herself as ex-IAS probationer (batch 2013). DGP BS Sidhu said on Saturday that SIT is now engaged in verifying and authenticating the collected evidences against the recorded statements of the academy officials. SIT had quizzed the senior academy officials on Thursday night and if needed, the team would further question them, he added.
The academy security officer Satyaveer Singh had registered a case under Sections 420/467/468/471 of the IPC against Choudhary in the Mussoorie Police Station on April 2 evening. Ruby was arrested on April 3 on the charge of clandestinely staying on the academy premises for around seven months and posing herself as an IAS probationer.
